After several years of discussion, the EU Parliament finally accepted the EU Directive 8869/10 on September 8th and two weeks later the document has been signed by the President of the Parliament.
Now the member states will have to adopt the new regulations into national law within the next 24 months. 8869/10 will take effect finally on January 1st, 2013.
