a-tune software AG provides innovative data management solutions for research and development institutes. Today, the company announced that the University of Duisburg-Essen has chosen the a-tune tick@lab software platform for the management of its lab animal facilities.
tick@lab will provide the institution with a central platform for the control of the operational processes and the documentation of all animal facilities at the university. The system will be accessible to employees in charge of the animals as well as to researchers who can use it to monitor their breeding lines, and to post and track service requests.
“Efficient communication with all parties involved with the animals is essential for our facility, as it allows us to support the research teams at the university and the affiliated clinics in the most effective manner. In the past, we spent a lot of time preparing lists and tables for our clients, while many employees were fully occupied with answering queries from researchers and labs,” explains Dr. Gero Hilken, professor and head of the central animal lab in Essen.
